Basics Insights

Power of Parenting Program

Parents and caregivers of children from birth to age 8 work with experienced Parenting Educators to explore topics within interactive, skills-based parenting education and support sessions over the course of twelve consecutive weeks.

Parent Leadership Program

An application-based program that elevates the essential role of parents in shaping equitable local policies and systems that impact their children's lives, to propel them into a more optimal future. The program will help fill major gaps around parent participation in community-level planning and decision-making, leading to long-term positive outcomes for children, families, and communities.

Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ)

ASQ-3 screens have been used for over 20 years to help parents identify their children’s strengths and areas where they may need additional support. It provides a developmental snapshot of a child between one month and 5½ years. With the addition of ASQ-SE screens, a child can now be screened for social and emotional development as well.

Welcome Baby Visit

A Welcome Baby visit provides a celebratory home visit to families with newborns up to 9 months old in East Boston. Welcome Baby visitors arrive with a beautiful gift bag filled with baby essentials. Families and caregivers will also receive information about activities, resources, and services in the community. Welcome Baby visits can be conducted in English, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. After the first visit, families and caregivers may request to participate in our Expanded Welcome Baby program, allowing up to seven additional visits.

Referrals for a Welcome Baby Visit or ASQ can be made by an organization staff member or a caregiver may self-refer. To make a referral, please submit an EBFEN Referral Form or call 617-569-3221 ext 128.
