What We Need
East Boston Social Centers, Inc. is currently seeking motivated individuals for position of Assistant Teacher. Reporting to the programs Site Coordinator, general responsibilities include the supervision of a group of 10-13 preschool children. East Boston Social Centers, Inc. is looking for someone with a motivation to work with children and charisma to effectively promote the East Boston Social Centers, Inc. culture.

Job Duties
The responsibilities of the Assistant Teacher, include but are not limited to:
Support a small group of children while interacting in a positive way as to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment
Engage in a way that meets the individual needs of all children
Participate in activities. Your involvement in the activity increases the enjoyment and educational value for the children; it is not enough to watch the children play, all ELC staff must play with the children and talk to them.
Assist in planning, preparing activities and decorating the classroom in a manner that is appropriate for the age of the children in the classroom.
Effectively and appropriately communicate with coworkers and families
Attend staff meetings and professional development
Commit to further your Education. You need to show documentation that you are currently enrolled in a Higher Education Degree Program related to the field
Complete First Aid every 2 years.
Attend courses and workshops. 20 hours of training must be completed. 4 training hours must be obtained through participation in dealing with children who have special needs workshop.
Additional Responsibilities as deemed necessary by the program Site Coordinator
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will be a detailed-oriented self-starter with strong leadership, organizational management, and communication skills. Familiarity with youth development is highly desired.
