Marcela Maldonado
Chief Program Officer
Marcela Maldonado is an experienced nonprofit and educational leader with an extensive background in developing and implementing school and community-based support systems. As a first-generation college graduate and an immigrant to this country, she has a true passion for advocating on behalf of youth and families from under-resourced communities and in engaging the critical issues that drive opportunity gaps.
Marcela has been serving as Vice-President of Programs at Tenacity, Inc., a youth development program that partners with the Boston Public Schools, and serves over 900 middle school, high school, and post-secondary aged students in Boston.
Prior to Tenacity, Marcela served as Dean of Students at Noble and Greenough School, where she also taught in its history department. She has held positions that include Director of Upward Bound, a private/public venture between Nobles and UMass Boston; Chief of Staff at Project Bread; Assistant Director of Admissions at Wellesley College; and Assistant Director of Student Support Services at Boston College.
Marcela is originally from Ecuador.
